RODEO!

Since the boys have started really enjoying the zoo and seeing different animals, we thought it would be a really good year to take them to the rodeo. They're not quite ready to sit through the actual rodeo but we thought they'd have a good time looking at all the animals at the livestock show.  Aunt Laura had come to visit from Chicago so she and I took the boys on Sunday morning.  It had been raining so it wasn't super crowded when we got there.  We rode a train (a tram) from the parking lot to the gate of the livestock show and then headed to the arena to the kids area.  On the way there, we walked by the vendors who were showing cars, trucks and tractors.  This may have been more fun for them than the animals.  When we finally pulled them away from the trucks and the tractors, we went and saw all the kids' exhibits:  Bessie the cow, hatching chicks, bunnies, newborn piglets, cows and bees.  We also spent some time in the petting zoo feeding goats, deer and even a wallaby.  It was great because it didn't start getting crowded until we were about to leave so we were actually able to see everything that we wanted to.
